Date - 09 October - Another incident filled A1GP took place in front of 34, 000 fans at Lausitz today. The driver of the day has to be Robbie Kerr who started from stone last to finish all the way up in second place.

The race started with Team Switzerland, with Neel Jani at the wheel, getting off the line quickest to be in 1st place from the 1st corner leading France and Team Malaysia. By the end of the first lap Team France had already taken first spot back, Nicolas Lapierre having started from pole for the French.

The German fans had something to cheer for as their car moved into a good 3rd position by lap 8 with Timo Scheider again at the wheel again. By this time A1 Team Brazil, with Nelson Piquet driving, had passed A1 Team Malaysia. A1 Team Switzerland led the race again briefly while France went into the pits but unfortunately they could not capitalize on this due to taking too long in the enforced single pit-stop.

A lot of teams struggled with wheel nut problems in the pits which the A1 organisers are apparently going to be looking at closely.

There was a need for the safety car when A1 Team India's car stopped on track on on the start-finish straight, Karun Chandok driving for them. While under the safety car Alex Yoong made the mistake of passing someone and this resulted in A1 Team Malaysia being dropped down the order after having to take the drive-through penalty. The other teams that had to serve drive-through penalties were A1 Team Czech Republic; for Tomas Enge jumping the start and A1 Team Brazil; for an infringement while stopped in the pits.

A1 Team South Africa were disappointed with their car that was simply not up to scratch all weekend and ended up with them not finishing

Nelson Piquet Jr.'s race came to a premature end when he was the meat in a sandwich at the end of the start-finish straight just after the pace car had come back in. A1 Team Brazil ended up with at least one damaged rear tyre and spun out of the race. They did still manage to score one point by setting the fastest lap in the Sprint Race.

A1 Team USA and their driver, Scott Speed, must be extremely frustrated with their string of gremlins which caused them to retire in both the Feature and Sprint races with Speed driving the car into the A1 Team USA garage on lap 2.
