2004 BMW Alpina B7
This souped up version of the BMW 7 series V8 is aimed at the car enthusiast who wants both racer attitude with elegance.
The heart of the B7 is a 4.4 litre V8 engine that is supercharged under the control of Valvetronic which varies the valve opening depth as well as the boost pressure.
This charging helps the ALPINA engine generate 368 kW at 5,500 rpm, and maximum torque of 700 Nm at 4,250 rpm. This gets you up to 100km/h in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 300km/h.
Exterior trim for this particular BMW has seen the rims changed to 21" Alpina wheels, a completely new rear spoiler, a re-shaped Alpina front valance and front spoiler.
Insdie changes for the Alpina B7 include large circular instruments in the driver's field of vision finished in Alpina's traditional blue with red pointers. The wood-finish of the BMW has been changed to that of the Alpina "curled maple" and the steering wheel also changed to a new 3-spoke sport Alpina wheel measuring 385mm in diameter.
The gearbox is a 6-speed automatic that can be switched to "Switch-Tronic" allowing the driver the advantage of Formula One speed shifting using the buttons on the rear of the steering wheel.
I found this on www.carpages.co.uk: How do you get 5 people from 0 - 60 mph in 4.8 seconds?
In two 911 Turbo's or in one Alpina B7!
