Ford's hot new 162 kW Ford Focus ST has more power than a VW Golf GTI
Since the Volvo S40 and the Focus use the same basic underpinnings, it was natural that the Focus ST should get Volvo power - a five-cylinder turbo with huge low-down torque as well as plenty top-end power.
S.T. is short for Sport Technologies and apparently drives like no other Ford ever produced before. It has a distinctive engine noise and a chassis set-up designed to provide plenty of grip and also giving thrilling handling.
During development testing the ST is claimed to have beaten the time set by the older Focus RS at the Nurburgring by a huge 12 seconds!
