Frankfurt - At the Motor Show here VW will be unveiling the hottest Golf yet with European sales starting soon afterwards.
This beauty will have a limited top speed of 250 km/h and comes with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or the optional DSG gearbox. With this paddle-shift, sequential or automatic gearbox the Golf R32 does a 0 - 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds instead of the 6.5 with the manual. The external changes are not constricted to the distinctive R32 logo but from the front it also has a shield-shaped radiator grille which are done in an alimunium look. Below the number plate is a central air scoop with another two large openings either side of the grille to help the 3.2 litre V6 engine breathe.
At the rear the polished steel exhausts protrude from the middle of the bumper. The wheels are 18-inch light alloy with the brake calipers painted blue and stopping power is achieved through 345mm front brake discs with the rear at 310mm.
