Date - 03/08/2005 - What better way for the Sprinboks to celebrate their recent home victories over Australia than to take the number 2 spot away from the same team?
As seen on the log on the All About Rugby Home Page the Springboks are only 0.08 points behind Australia in the world rankings and if they beat New Zealand at home on 6th August they will take the number 2 spot.

Date - 03/08/2005 - New Zealand have put out a bit of a surprise in their line-up for Saturday's game with Mils Muliana being penned down to play on the left Wing.
The utility back usually plays at fullback or centre and this will be his first test at wing. He is replacing the injured Sitiveni Sivivatu.

Date - 04/08/2005 - George Gregan maintains his side will break through and beat the Springboks on South African soil.
He likened the national rugby side's dilemma to that of the Australian cricketers struggle to win in India for many years with this comment: "I think that with Australian rugby it's pretty similar to the Aussie cricketers and I think once we crack it, then there will be just this amazing belief that we can win everywhere." 

Date - 09/08/2005 - South Africa are now in second spot and have at least this to celebrate. They take on the Brumbies in Perth coming into the game with quite a bit of confidence and having a chance of keeping the Tri-nations trophy and possibly clinching the number one spot in the world rankings.

Date - 09/08/2005 - The New Zealand captain, Tana Umaga, has been pencilled in for Saturday's game against Australia but it is not certain yet whether he will play. If not Conrad Smith will take his place.
