Date - 10/09/2005 - Chelsea vs. Sunderland The Blues were nowhere near their best and still managed to get all 3 points against Sunderland. The chances in the first half were few and far between and Chelsea only upped their game at the beginning of the second half. Frank Lampard had a shot early on which struck the cross-bar. The first goal came from Geremi who pounced on an opportunity from a mistake by Sunderland. Davis took a quick throw-in but Welsh could not control it after which Geremi struck the ball past the keeper first time. The second goal came from a cross by Damien Duff and Drogba headed the ball in to seal the victory.
